How it works
Not everyone can afford to eat in three star restaurants but that doesn't mean that you have to miss out on the top quality ingredients they use to create their dishes. Some chefs go to the lengths of putting their underlings on a plane just to bring back one ingredient with them. We don't think that is necessary. We import temperature sensitive ingredients in a more green and economical way by grouping the orders.
Once the farmers and producer working with us receive our order they send their produce to our partners depot in the region all on the same day. These are then shipped in refrigeration to our base in London where your individual boxes are prepared and dispatched. Unlike other companies we don't hold stock which means that you will have to wait a bit longer but the benefit is that you will receive the freshest quality available at the most affordable price!
Who are The Sauce?
The Sauce was started by three friends who shared a love of fine food and are motivated to continuously out-do each other by finding the best food ingredients available, anywhere. However the logistics and storage problem kept resurfacing in early ventures. This was finally solved by the regional selection boxes, bought in bulk idea. Today The Sauce considers itself to be the only group buying club for temperature sensitive fine delicatessen and rare fresh produce in the world.
The company is lead by Niels Bischoff, a former fruit buyer and master of Postharvest Technology. Feel free to drop us a line or suggest a product or region that you would like The Sauce to consider.
